
DOC National Cancer Survivors Day to be marked in Moldova annually
Chisinau, June 29. /MOLDPRES/- National Cancer Survivors Day will be marked in Moldova. The decision was published in the Official Journal today.
Thus, it is proposed that National Cancer Survivors Day be marked annually on the first Sunday of June. The action aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people who have suffered from this disease.
According to the document, as part of the National Cancer Survivors Day, scientific, educational and cultural-artistic activities will be organized at the national and local level, aimed at raising awareness and informing citizens about the risk factors of cancer, about solutions to improve the quality of life and of increasing the life expectancy of cancer survivors. Parliament will carry out activities on the design of legislation favorable to cancer survivors. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the administrative authorities will have activities, with the participation of non-commercial organizations, trade unions and employers, regarding reintegration into the workplace, social inclusion and social assistance of cancer survivors.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health and its subordinate administrative authorities will organize activities regarding cancer survivors' access to medical services and medicines, as well as activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. The Ministry of Education and Research will have activities to promote a healthy lifestyle, solidarity and support for children surviving cancer in their school reintegration. The Audiovisual Council will recommend to media service providers and distributors the broadcasting of audiovisual programs dedicated to the day.
