Moldovan General Police Inspectorate receives new batch of equipment from EU Partnership Mission

The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) today received a new batch of equipment from the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM). The equipment is meant to develop the TETRA digital radio communications system.

The donation includes portable radio units, mobile radio units for service vehicles, and a dispatch console. The equipment will help ensure secure communications, effective coordination of crews and the quick management of interventions.

IGP Chief Viorel Cernauteanu thanked the European partners for their support in developing the capabilities of the National Police.

“Such equipment contributes to enhancing the efficiency of interventions and bringing the Police closer to the needs of citizens,” Viorel Cernauteanu emphasized.

The new equipment complements the supplies previously provided by EUPM and is part of the process of modernizing and developing the National Police’s critical communications infrastructure. The support will also contribute to strengthening the IGP’s operational and institutional capacities.
