Over 22,000 students admitted to universities in Moldova: up by 5.2 per cent compared to last year
Over 22,200 students have been enrolled in universities of Moldova after the first two admission rounds this year. The number has increased by 5.2 per cent compared to the same admission stage in 2025.
In bachelor's and integrated study programmes, 16,924 students have been enrolled, 999 more than after the first two rounds last year. This represents an increase of approximately 5.9 per cent. In master's programmes, 5,276 students have been enrolled, 149 more compared to 2025.
As for state-funded places, 4,528 students have been enrolled in bachelor's and integrated studies and 2,478 - in master's programs. Relative to the State Order for the 2026–2027 academic year, the coverage rate is approximately 84 per cent for bachelor's and integrated studies and 89 per cent for master's studies.
At the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, 2,254 students have been enrolled; the Technical University of Moldova has enrolled 3,899 students, while Moldova State University has 4,462 students. At the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 1,361 students have been enrolled in bachelor's and integrated studies and the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University from Chisinau has registered 1,137 enrollments.
For candidates who were not admitted in the first two rounds or who wish to participate in the competition, the admission process will continue as of 1 till 30 September 2026.
The most opportunities at the bachelor's level remain in the field of Education Sciences. Teachers’ training programmes are available at the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, Moldova State University, Alecu Russo State University of Balti, Cahul University Center, Comrat State University and the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts.
Unfilled state-funded places are still available in the fields of Agricultural Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Forestry, as well as in some programmes in Engineering and Engineering Activities and Information and Communication Technologies.
Within the third round, a candidate will be able to submit the original application file to a single higher education institution, for a single study programme, a single form of education and a single form of funding. The candidate's data will be entered into the eAdmitere system by the institution's authorized representative.
