New Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Claudiu Năsui and new Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eugeniu Osmochescu have taken the oath of office. The ceremony took place at the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, in the presence of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
Eugeniu Osmochescu: “I swear to devote all my strength and skills to supporting the Republic of Moldova, to respect the Constitution and the laws of the country, to defend democracy, fundamental human rights and freedoms, the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova,” declared Eugeniu Osmochescu, who has taken over the position of Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Claudiu Năsui: “I swear to devote all my strength and skills to the advancement of the Republic of Moldova, to respect the Constitution and the laws of the country, to defend democracy, fundamental human rights and freedoms, the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.”
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized that Osmochescu and Năsui are taking on difficult but very important mandates. Tofan assured that the Government will support them in the reforms they intend to implement “for a stronger economy and a state that works better for the people.”
“The first word is economy. The appointment of Claudiu Năsui to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and of Eugeniu Osmochescu to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry reflects this priority. We need an economy that grows faster, we need more investments, companies that can compete and export, and bold changes where things can work better. (...) In agriculture we need the same results-oriented approach. Our resources are limited, and every leu of subsidy must generate as much impact as possible for farmers and for the country’s economy,” said Tofan.
At 41 years old, Claudiu Năsui is a Romanian economist and politician. He served as a member of parliament for USR and as Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism from December 2020 to September 2021. On August 25, President Maia Sandu granted him citizenship of the Republic of Moldova.
Eugeniu Osmochescu has over 25 years of experience in drafting and implementing public policies and economic development strategies. He is an internationally recognized specialist in the fields of sustainable development, investment attraction and regulatory reform.
Osmochescu previously held the position of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization from November 2025 to August 2026.
