Italy might provide Moldova with field camp for refugees
Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ - Italy might provide Moldova with a fully functional field camp for refugees and might send a team of specialists who would provide support to set this camp. The members of the European Union civil protection team made statements to this effect at a meeting with the leadership of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
According to the IGSU press service, the Inspectorate’s leadership tackled aspects on the functionality of the temporary centres for refugees, as well as the assistance which can be provided for their comfort. At the meeting, the civil protection team informed that Italy might provide a fully functional field camp for refugees. Moreover, they might delegate a team of specialists who would provide support to set the camp and for its work. The IGSU leadership noted that this opportunity might remain as a reserve solution, if the number of refugees increases for the country’s northern or central region.
At present, IGSU manages the logistic activity of three provisional centres for refugees, set in the Palanca settlement, Stefan Voda district, Giurgiulesti, Cahul, as well as Parlita, Falesti district. Each centre has a capacity of 500 places.
