Liliana Vitu-Esanu elected new head of Moldova's Audiovisual Council
Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Audiovisual Council (CA) today elected its leadership. Thus, Liliana Vitu-Esanu became CA head and Aneta Gonta – deputy head.
At the today’s meeting, the new members of the Audiovisual Council elected their leadership; the election took place by secret vote; both candidacies were backed by unanimous vote.
During the meeting, the new CA head said that she wanted the regulatory institution to enforce the media services code in a way in which the Moldovan audiovisual institutions can develop. ‘’The enforcement of the legislation in the audiovisual sector must contribute to the development of the native media, especially to the creation of conditions for the development of the media in Moldova. Also, it should protect the information space, come up with actions due to remove, during time, the distortions, differences in problems existing as regards the advertising, measuring the audience, transparency of property,’’ Liliana Vitu-Esanu said.
Liliana Vitu-Esanu was put forward for the office of member of the Audiovisual Council by the government. Starting from 2018, she has been coordinator for communication and media at the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova. She acted as director of the project, Support of the Public Radio and Television, at Internews Kyrgyzstan. Starting from 2013 till 2015, Vitu-Esanu was spokeswoman of the then prime minister, Iurie Leanca. She has earlier acted as director for strategic development at the Centre for Independent Journalism, as well as director of the News and Discussions Department at the Moldova 1 TV station.
Liliana Vitu-Esanu has degree in journalism and communication sciences and a master degree in European modern studies at the London Metropolitan University.
