Magistrate from Moldova's South Court of Appeals fails external evaluation

The Judges' Evaluation Commission has completed the verification procedure for magistrate Serghei Pilipenco from the South Court of Appeals and has submitted its report to the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) with the proposal that he should not pass the external integrity evaluation.

The Commission's report was sent to the CSM, which is to decide whether to accept or reject this conclusion.

According to the Commission, the evaluation targeted suspicions regarding unjustified assets and expenses, including the purchase of an apartment in the name of the judge's brother, vacations, the use of residences not belonging to the family, and the origin of sums of money deposited in bank accounts.

The Evaluation Commission informs that, since the beginning of its activity, it has received 180 cases, of which 92 have been finalized, 25 are under examination, and 64 judges or prosecutors have resigned or withdrawn from competitions.
