Parents of over 250,000 children have already collected the one-off support of 1,000 lei provided by the government at the beginning of the school year. The spokesperson for the cabinet, Daniel Voda, has unveiled data to this effect.
“Citizens continue to collect the one-time financial support, worth 1,000 lei, meant for pupils from grades I to IX. So far, according to official data, over 250,000 children have already benefited from the 1,000-lei support, with about 85 per cent of the payments transferred on this purpose being collected,” announced Daniel Voda.
The resources are directed to the parent's bank card or can be collected at post offices.
Daniel Voda said that the money can be collected until the end of this year.
“In case you have not received this source of money, you can contact the competent authority, in order to continue benefiting from this support. It will be valid until the end of this year, that is, December 2025. You can do this at post offices or by submitting a request to the authorities,” concluded Daniel Voda.
The 1,000-lei support is provided to about 297,000 children at the beginning of the school year. As much as 300 million lei was allocated from the state budget to provide the money.
The authorities said that the provision of support would help families better prepare for the start of the school year, reduce school absenteeism, enhance equity in the educational system and improve the quality of education.
