Moldovan driver's licenses to be recognized in United Kingdom
The British authorities have initiated the public consultation process for a draft which provides for the recognition and conversion of Moldovan driver's licenses without an additional exam. Public consultations are held during February 28- March 28.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) emphasized that Moldova and the United Kingdom were advancing in the process of mutual recognition of driver's licenses, a key objective for the Moldovan community in the United Kingdom.
“A concrete step to this end is the launch of the process of public consultation by the British authorities, which takes place from February 28 to March 28. This represents an essential stage before adopting the decision on the recognition and conversion of Moldovan driver's licenses without an additional exam. Thus, both parties have initiated internal procedures to ensure mutual recognition of driver's licenses,” MAE said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that it would continue taking necessary actions to finalize the agreement and would inform citizens about the next steps.
Similar agreements for the mutual recognition of driver's licenses are signed between Moldova and Turkey, Lithuania, Italy, Albania, Spain, Greece and France. At the same time, the Moldovan authorities are negotiating the conversion of driver's licenses with Germany.
