Over 5,000 policemen to ensure public order in Moldova on 26-28 August
Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/ - Over 5,000 policemen will ensure the public order in Moldova’s settlements on 26-28 August, in the context of the marking of the 30th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence on 27 August and the Assumption of the Mother of God on 28 August. To avoid the discomfort created by the traffic’s restriction and imposing of the measures triggered by the pandemic, the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) called on the residents to prove understanding and cooperation.
“On 26-28 August, tens of public events will be held in the country on the occasion of the Independence day and the dedication day holiday, due in about 100 settlements. Most festivities are planned in the capital, where three heads of state, many guests, official delegations are expected and a military parade will take place. We call on the people to prove understanding and cooperate with policemen, who will ensure the public order, in conditions when more transport routes are redirected, parking is banned in more districts and enhanced guard,’’ an IGP representative, Alexei Grosu, said at a today’s news briefing.
At the same time, the General Police Inspectorate called on the citizens not to forget that we are in pandemic crisis and avoid, as far as possible, crowded places, observing the sanitary and epidemiological rules.
