Two courtyards modernized through the European Courtyard Program have been inaugurated in the municipality of Chișinău, on 80/4 Albișoara Street and 157–161 Grenoble Street. The projects were carried out with the support of the Government, through the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, and provide residents with safer, more modern and more accessible spaces for everyday life.

Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea emphasized that the two implemented projects bring visible changes to the urban spaces where people live every day.

“The courtyards of apartment blocks are spaces where children grow up, where people spend time with their families, where the feeling of home is built. Through the ‘European Courtyard’ Program we want to bring order, safety and better conditions directly where people live, so that every family can feel that change is also reaching their neighborhoods,” said Vladimir Bolea.

In the courtyard on 80/4 Albișoara Street, works were carried out to rehabilitate the roadway and sidewalks, playgrounds and recreational areas were arranged, urban furniture was installed, and works were undertaken to protect the buildings against water infiltration. The project has a total value of over 5.2 million lei and will improve living conditions for approximately 1,000 residents.

Meanwhile, in the courtyard on 157–161 Grenoble Street, the spaces between the blocks were modernized, sports and playground areas were rehabilitated, sidewalks and access roads were restored, green spaces were landscaped, and new curbs were installed. The investment exceeds 4.9 million lei and will provide better conditions for about 1,600 beneficiaries.

The European Courtyard Program aims to revitalize the courtyards of residential blocks and transform them into modern, functional and people-friendly spaces, contributing to improving the quality of life in the municipality of Chișinău and in other localities across the country.

The program provides for the modernization of 469 courtyards nationwide, with estimated investments of about 1.95 billion lei. At present, 88 projects are under implementation, while another 150 are in the process of project sketch development. Of these, construction works are already underway in 60 courtyards, and another 26 are to enter the construction phase in the immediate future.
