Rural pharmacies received over 2.3 million lei in state subsidies
The Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (AMDM) announced that it transferred the first instalment of subsidies for 2025, totaling 2,361,488 lei, to 15 economic agents managing 74 pharmacies in rural areas across the country.
According to AMDM, it is implemented under Government Decision No. 1036/2023 on support for pharmacies in underserved areas.
10 rural pharmacies that exceeded the threshold of 450,000 lei in quarterly sales will no longer receive subsidies in the current quarter, showing an increased capacity for autonomous operation.
Data provided by economic operators shows that in the first three months of 2025, subsidized pharmacies dispensed medications worth over 14 million lei, most being compensated. This confirms increased public confidence and a gradual strengthening of the rural pharmaceutical network.
Comparatively, in the previous year, subsidies for the fourth quarter amounted to 1,386,400 lei, and for the third quarter - 632,016 lei, allocated to support 52 pharmacies.
In the first three months of the year, 22 new pharmacies started operating in villages across the Republic of Moldova.
