Sequestrated transport means to be able to be sold in advance till their confiscation in Moldova
Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The sequestrated transport means will be able to be sold in advance, in the lack of a final conviction of a person or of a decision on confiscation. The parliament today adopted a draft law to this end, in order to optimize the work of the Crime Assets Recovery Agency (ARBI) – a structure of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA).
According to the draft’s authors, the legislative amendment was necessary, as in case of transport means, their value is decreasing during time and, as a result, the state’s interests are harmed.
The amendments also give possibility to issue the order of freezing the crime assets for a term of up to 30 working days, so that people regarded do not manage to transfer the vehicles on other persons or sell them, till distraint is levied.
The draft law was backed in the final reading with the votes of 51 MPs.
