Approved by Government: Public-sector employees to receive one-off payment of up to 4,000 lei
Public sector employees with a gross salary of less than 20,000 lei will receive a one-off payment of up to 4,000 lei this year. To make this payment possible, the government today approved the draft amendment to the state budget for this year.
Thus, education employees—administrative staff, teaching staff and support staff—will each receive 4,000 lei.
Public-sector employees in the social services, national defense and public order, and health sectors (including institutions in the fields of culture, sports, justice, and public administration) will each receive 3,000 lei.
Similarly, public-sector employees in the technical sector will each receive 2,000 lei.
To fund these payments, 560 million lei has been allocated in the state budget.
As a result, according to the draft, state budget revenues are projected to increase by 0.8% compared to the initial approval—or by 600.5 million lei—to 80,274.5 million lei, while expenditures are increased by 2,772.3 million lei, to 103,346.3 million lei; consequently, the state budget deficit is increased by 2,171.8 million lei, reaching 23,071.8 million lei.
