Moldovan PM attends ceremony celebrating 35th anniversary of foundation of Customs Service
The Customs Service of Moldova is marking Customs Officer Day and the 35th anniversary of its founding today. The anniversary event brought together generations of customs officers who had contributed to the institution’s development, from the beginnings of the national customs system to its current stage of modernization and European integration.
Attending the event, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan referred to the development priorities of the Customs Service, with an emphasis on better risk management and facilitating business activity.
“We must focus, first and foremost, on risks and channel resources where abuses are more prevalent. At the same time, alongside our control function, we must make it easier for businesses to operate and encourage trusted operators. I thank the employees of the Customs Service for their contribution to the institution’s development. The Customs Service has advanced and will continue to become part of the European Union’s customs system,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
In recognition of the professionalism, responsibility and dedication proved in the performance of their duties, and on the occasion of this anniversary, the PM presented a number of Honorary Diplomas of Moldova’s government.
