Moldovan Central Electoral Commission publishes list of parties eligible to participate in elections for office of governor of Gagauzia

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today published the list of 37 political parties entitled to participate in the elections for the office of Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia, scheduled for November 15, 2026.

During a CEC’s meeting, additional responsibilities were assigned to central public administration authorities and other entities for the electoral period of the elections for the People's Assembly of Gagauzia and for the office of Governor.

The CEC also approved the redistribution of budget allocations amounting to 7,253.49 thousand lei, in order to provide the financial resources necessary for organizing and conducting the regional elections in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (UTA Gagauzia). At the same time, the CEC approved the estimated expenditure budget for these elections, amounting to 13,608.49 thousand lei.

Also, the CEC established first-level electoral constituencies for the new local elections and the local referendum scheduled for November 1, 2026. The boundaries of the electoral constituencies will correspond to the boundaries of the administrative-territorial units.

The elections for the office of Governor will take place on November 15, 2026. On the same day, elections will also be held for deputies to the People's Assembly of Gagauzia.

On November 1, 2026, new local elections will be held in the villages of Cairaclia and Novosiolovca, Taraclia district; the town of Costesti, Rascani district; the village of Hasnasenii Mari, Drochia district; and the villages of Tomai and Chirsova in UTA Gagauzia. On the same day, a local referendum will be held in the village of Delacau, Anenii Noi district.
