Moldovan PM attends ceremony on marking 50 years of work of Chisinau-based Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital
The Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital is marking 50 years of activity today. During this period, the institution has expanded its medical care specialties and its capacity to serve patients from the Chisinau municipality and other regions of the country. The hospital has grown from 15 clinical specialties to 22 and currently serves approximately 685,000 people.
Prime Minister Vasile Tofan attended the anniversary ceremony and congratulated the institution’s team, highlighting the scale of the hospital’s activity and its development over recent decades. The PM noted the modernization of the facilities and improvements in patients’ care processes, praising the medical team’s contribution to the institution’s development.
“As many as 70,000 patients treated every year, 30,000 hospitalizations and more than 20,000 surgical procedures. The scale at which you operate is impressive. Thank you for the effort you make, for your sacrifice and courage—we know that a doctor experiences the pain of every patient,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
The institution houses the National Toxicology Center and the Primary Stroke Center, as well as hemodialysis and interventional cardiology services. The hospital is also involved in national programmes targeting the treatment of myocardial infarction and stroke, joint and vascular replacement, endovascular surgery, hemodialysis, corneal transplantation and cataract treatment.
“We must keep our doctors at home and develop modern hospitals. I am confident that healthcare services will become a field in which Moldova will be competitive, including for patients from the European Union,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
The institution also conducts training and research activities. It hosts 18 university clinics and employs 87 academic staff members. In addition, hundreds of scientific publications and dozens of patented inventions have been produced.
