Thematic testing starts in secondary education of Moldova
The thematic testing began today for students in secondary education in 864 schools. Thus, children will take written evaluation tests in Romanian language and literature and mathematics in the 5th grade and also in a foreign language (English or French) in the 8th grade.
The tests take place on April 8, 9 and 10 in schools from 34 districts, including the Balti and Chisinau cities.
Thus, in the testing process, 563 institutions involve 5th -grade students in Romanian language and literature, while 683 institutions do so in mathematics. In the 8th grade, 443 institutions participate with students in the written test for English and 239 institutions - in French.
The involved schools had the opportunity to choose the evaluation in one of the two subjects – Romanian or mathematics – or in both in the 5th grade, as well as opt for the inclusion or exclusion of the foreign language evaluation in the 8th grade.
The students' written tests will be checked in district/municipal committees. The results will be transmitted, through centralizing units, to the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation for result analysis and the checked tests will be returned to the education institutions.
