VIDEO // Government expands sanction list against those threatening national security
Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced the expansion of the list of individuals and organizations targeted by sanctions, during a meeting of the Inter-institutional Supervisory Council, as part of the authorities' efforts to protect national security and constitutional order.
Among those sanctioned are Victoria Furtună, Alexei Lungu, Vadim Grozavu, Irina Lozovan, Natalia Parasca and Alexandr Nesterovschi, as well as entities such as Victoria Bloc, the company A7, accused of conducting illegal transactions with funds of criminal origin, and a cultural-educational center of Moldova.
'The State Tax Service will block the bank accounts of individuals and organizations supporting Ilan Shor in their attempt to destabilize the Republic of Moldova', stated Dorin Recean.
According to the Prime Minister, these measures aim to dismantle illegal financing schemes, electoral corruption, and illicit enrichment.
He warned that attempts to undermine the state will intensify in the coming period, but state institutions are prepared to respond firmly.
'The Republic of Moldova belongs to its citizens, and external interference in internal affairs will not be tolerated. We will act legally against anyone who breaks the law and seeks to harm the country', Dorin Recean emphasized.
In recent years, Moldovan authorities have accused groups affiliated with fugitive Ilan Shor of carrying out political and economic destabilization activities in Moldova, especially around election times. The recent measures complement a strengthened legal framework concerning the fight against external interference and money laundering.
