2021 Olympic Games to be held regardless of evolution of pandemic
Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/- Japan will hold the Olympic Games this summer regardless of the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Japanese authorities said that the Olympic Games will be held on 23 July - 8 August regardless of the pandemic situation. "We will hold the Olympics, we need to consider new ways to host the Olympics," Tokyo 2020 head Yoshiro Mori said.
The Tokyo Olympics scheduled in summer 2020, have been postponed by a year due to the global health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
A recent increase in infections in Japan, which has forced authorities to declare a state of emergency in some areas, including Tokyo, fueled speculation about the Games this summer.
