First sports media forum of Moldova held in Chisinau
Chisinau, July 9. /MOLDPRES/- The first sports media forum of the Republic of Moldova took place yesterday in Chisinau, in the organization of the Sports Press Association of Moldova (APSM), bringing together representatives of several information media from the country.
The event's agenda included debates on "the existing state of affairs in the field, the collaboration of the sports media with the Ministry of Education and Research, the National Olympic and Sports Committee, Sports Federations, partners, as well as the possibility to create an information platform for the sports community". "It is a far-reaching event that will certainly contribute to the growth of a positive image and the sports promotion of the Republic of Moldova on a national and international level", APSM said.
"The purpose of the first sports media forum is to improve the situation in the field, to establish a much better relationship with sports federations, as well as to create a specialized platform where sports fans could find out the most important news. I want to have a restart of the sports media community, to involve more TV stations, websites, newspapers, so that together we can promote the Republic of Moldova", said Eduard Ciobanu, president of the Sports Press Association of Moldova.
For his part, Andrei Mardari, MOLDPRES photojournalist, member of APSM, said that a collaboration between the sports authorities and the press is imperative, just that more responsibility and verticality is required from the press. "First of all, we must eliminate any attempt at servility towards sports federations, especially those with a lot of money. The mission of the sports media is no different from the fundamental principles of the media in general, but this means that they must be explained and clarified any facts, questions, suspicions or doubts, when it comes to transparency in sports", Andrei Mardari said.
The Sports Press Association of Moldova has over 50 members, sports journalists from all regions of the country and is part of the International Sports Press Association.
