Weightlifter Nicoleta Cojocaru, U17 World Champion! Three Gold Medals and Two World Records in Colombia
Moldovan weightlifter Nicoleta Cojocaru achieved an exceptional performance at the U17 World Weightlifting Championships, held in Colombia, where she won three gold medals and set two world records in the 58 kg weight category.
The athlete dominated all three events of the competition. In the snatch, she lifted 88 kg, and in the clean and jerk she managed 114 kg, a result that represents a new world record in the U17 age category.
Nicoleta Cojocaru also set a new world record in the total, with 202 kg, confirming her status as one of the most valuable young weightlifters of the moment. This performance comes just a few months after she impressed at the Junior World Championships in Egypt, where she set world and European records in the U17 category, demonstrating a spectacular rise on the international stage.
The U17 World Championships are taking place from July 5–11 in Cali, Colombia.
