Chisinau, October 7, 2026 – The parliament’s standing bureau has approved the agenda for the plenary meeting of October 8.

Four draft laws concern the harmonization of national legislation with the acquis communautaire. They address increasing the share of Romanian-language television programmes and domestic content in the audiovisual space, clarifying and enhancing the visibility of health warnings on tobacco products’ packaging, regulating the requirements applicable to central securities depositories, as well as mutual assistance in the recovery of claims related to taxes, duties, rights and other measures.

In the second reading, the parliament will examine the draft law on the reorganization of the State Enterprise, Railway of Moldova, an initiative to enable public institutions to initiate the establishment of industrial parks, as well as the draft law providing for stricter rules to combat poaching.

The session’s agenda also includes two legislative initiatives to be examined in the first reading. One of them concerns the amendment of certain normative acts to allow persons with severe disabilities since childhood to combine a survivor’s pension with a disability pension. The second draft law provides for strengthening guarantees of the prosecutor’s procedural independence.

The draft parliament decision on approving the general structure and personnel strength of the National Army will be examined at a closed meeting, as the document contains information classified as a state secret and is subject to the provisions of the Law on State Secrets.

The plenary session will take place on October 8, starting from 13:00. The agenda can be viewed on parliament’s website, and the session can be watched live on parliament’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as on the institution’s official website.
