Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov met today with over 100 diaspora children and teenagers participating in this year's edition of the governmental camp DOR – DiasporaOriginsReturns, organized by the Bureau for Diaspora Relations.

“It was a great joy to meet for the second year in a row the diaspora children and teenagers. I talked to them about what the Government does, how we work here as a team, how state institutions function and how important decisions for the country are made,” said Gherasimov.

Participants learned through interactive games information about Moldova's European path, as well as curiosities about the European Union states where many of them live. The official encouraged the young people to return home: “I told them that we are always waiting for them to return to Moldova and why not, in the future, to be part of the team working for a European future and a better life for all the country's citizens.”

DOR program, now in thirteenth edition, is dedicated to diaspora children and young people aged 12 to 17, originating from the Republic of Moldova or descendants of Moldovan citizens. Launched in 2013, the program has provided cultural and educational experiences to over 1,100 children so far.
