Moldovan culture ministry purchases twenty six works of fine art to complement state collection
Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ – The Ministry of Culture acquired 26 fine art works of local artists, which will complement the National Museum of Art of Moldova.
The works were selected by the Expert Council for assessment, approval and purchase of fine art works of the Ministry of Culture, headed by Head of the Cultural Heritage of the institution Sergius Ciocanu.
Contacted by the agency, Sergius Ciocanu noted that for procurement of 26 works of arts there were allocated from the state budget 525,000 lei /over €25 thousand/.
According to the cited source, this is the only way to complete the National Museum of Art of Moldova, which lacks its own funds to purchase the work. "Through acquisitions made by the state, the museum is able to develop collections to support and encourage contemporary artistic process," said Sergius Ciocanu.
The works of painting, graphics and sculpture purchased by the ministry were made by artists such as Mihai Grecu, Valentina Rusu – Ciobanu, Eleonora Romanescu, Sergiu Cuciuc, Elena Bontea, Eleonora Romanescu, Elena Karacentev – Prize holder of Culture Ministry of 2016, Andrei Mudrea, Timotei Batranu, Tudor Cataraga, Ion Postovanu and others.
Similarly, since 2016 was declared the year of Mihai Grecu and in accordance with the National Action Program dedicated to this event, there were purchased two works of the master, so the state collection completed with two significant creations – "My adoptive parents" (1972 – 1973) and "Field flowers" (1972).
Director of the National Art Museum of Moldova, Tudor Zbirnea, emphasized that the institution in question is one that preserves works of art and ensure presentation to the public of developments in contemporary art.
Today, the collection of the National Museum of Arts of Moldova has over 39 thousand pieces of heritage.
