Moldovan parliament speaker offers condolences following death of well-known guitarist

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has conveyed a message of condolence to the family of Alexandru Cazacu, the guitarist of the Noroc band, who passed away today.

The official emphasized that an entire generation of people would honor and remember his timeless music.

“Alongside his brother, the late guitarist Anatol Cazacu, and under the guidance of Mihai Dolgan, they composed and performed dozens of hits that have definitively marked Moldovan rock music. Among their famous interpretations, there are songs like "Why the Guitars Cry", "An Artist Sings", "Spring", or "The Walnut". An entire generation of people will honor and remember his timeless music. May God rest him in peace,” noted Igor Grosu.

Alexandru Cazacu, guitarist and composer, former member of the legendary Noroc band, passed away at the age of 75. In 2009, the maestro was awarded the honorary title of Artist of the People for his outstanding contribution to the development of musical art.
