Moldovan singer says to represent country with dignity at Eurovision Song Contest
Chisinau, 2 May /MOLDPRES/ - Singer Ana Odobescu, who will represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest, will leave for Israel on 5 May.
At a news conference, the singer said that, although there were financial problems, they had been successfully overcome.
”I want to represent the country with dignity and everybody be proud with this. We will have the first rehearsal on 6 May. The concerts we had in Madrid, Amsterdam and Moscow proved that we enjoy success. In Tel Aviv, we will use our computerized graphics. We will make a show which has not been seen for a long time,” Ana Odobescu also said.
The budget of the trip to Tel Aviv is worth over 51,000 euros.
Moldova’s representative at Eurovision will sing with the number 3 in the second semifinal, due in Tel Aviv on 16 May. Singers from Switzerland, Sweden, Ireland, Austria, Latvia, Romania, Denmark, Armenia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Norway, Russia, the Netherlands, Croatia, Lithuania, Malta will get on stage on the concerned day.
If she manages to go through this stage, Moldova’s representative will participate in the Eurovision’s final, due on 18 May.
Artists from 35 countries will perform in the two semifinals in all. The first semifinal will take place on 14 May and the second one – on 16 May.
Moldova’s representative will sing the song Stay on Eurovision’s stage.
Ana Odobescu was born in the Dubasari town. She finished the music school from her native town and then continued her education at the Tiraspol-based music college and the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy from Chisinau. Odobescu was awarded the prize II at the Slavyansky Bazar contest, held in Vitebsk, and prize I at the Two Twin Hearts International Light Music Festival and Contest.
In 2018, the band DoReDos, who represented Moldova at Eurovision, ranked tenth.
