Moldovan Central Electoral Commission unveils proposals for polling stations from abroad at parliamentary elections

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has unveiled preliminary information for consultation concerning the potential locations for the polling stations from abroad, which are to be established for the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025.

The proposed locations have been integrated into an interactive map. They were presented by CEC, based on proposals on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).

CEC emphasized that the data aimed to provide additional information to voters who will be abroad on the election day, so that they know the probability of the organization of polling stations in the host locality/country and their locations, in order to facilitate the expression of the right to vote.

According to CEC, voters who will be abroad on the election day can pre-register, in order to communicate their intention to vote outside the country. The action is conducted to optimize the process of establish the number and locations for polling stations. The pre-registration can be carried out till August 14, 2025, 23:59 (Moldovan time).

The final decision on organizing polling stations abroad for the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025, will be made by the Central Electoral Commission by August 24, this year, in accordance with the term provided by legislation.

On September 28, Moldova’s citizens with right to vote are expected to go to the polls to elect the lawmakers for the future Parliament.
