VIDEO // Moldova and Poland could organize joint cultural events

Cultural cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Poland was discussed during a working visit by Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan to Poland, where he met with Minister of Culture and National Heritage Marta Cienkowska. The talks focused on strengthening the bilateral partnership and launching joint cultural projects.

“We discussed how we can further strengthen cultural cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Poland, as well as the possibility of developing joint initiatives that would include the exchange of expertise and the organization of cultural and educational events together,” said Jardan.

Another topic was the expansion of artistic collaboration and the use of Poland’s experience in the cultural heritage, an area considered a priority for the authorities in Chișinău.

“We want to expand artistic cooperation between museums, theatres and in the field of cinema through exhibitions, co-productions, artist residencies and mobility opportunities for professionals in the cultural sector. In addition, Poland has solid experience in protecting cultural heritage, and our interest is to harness this expertise,” Jardan added.

At the same time, the Minister of Culture visited the headquarters of the National Institute of Remembrance in Poland, where partnerships were established to strengthen institutional cooperation and adopt best practices in the field of historical memory.

“At the headquarters of the National Institute of Remembrance in Poland, we discussed the projects carried out by this important institution, one of the largest in the region. We have established a very, very good partnership, and I am sure that soon a delegation of the Institute will visit the Republic of Moldova, and together with the members of the Memory Council in Chișinău we will build a long-term partnership and take over the best Polish practices in this field,” said Jardan.

Jardan paid a high-level visit to the Republic of Poland as part of the official delegation led by President Maia Sandu, at the invitation of President of Poland Karol Nawrocki. The visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the cultural field, exchanges of experience and the development of joint projects between the two countries.
