Additional investments of over 210 million lei in Moldovan settlements: around 300 new projects included in Single Programming Document

An amount of over 210 million lei will be additionally invested in the development of localities across the country on the coming period. The funds will be allocated for the implementation of 293 new local development projects, which have been included in the Single Programming Document for the years 2025–2027. The project was approved by the government today.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development Angela Turcanu, at the cabinet meeting, has said that the purpose of the project was to support the sustainable development of localities, the efficient organization of the territory and to enhance citizens’ access to quality public services and social infrastructure.

“Implementing local development projects will contribute to improving the quality of life of residents, ensuring spatial organization and the sustainable development of localities,” said Angela Turcanu.

The total value of the 293 local development projects is over 210 million lei, of which 208 million lei is allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development and 2.3 million lei represents the contribution of local public administration authorities.

“It is a very important part of our work programme, with a major impact,” stated Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

The impact expected from the implementation of local development projects is that 293 localities of Moldova will benefit from general urban plans drafted, updated or modernized for the sustainable development of localities and for increasing citizens’ trust in the work of public authorities.

The Single Programming Document is a medium-term planning instrument for the implementation of the National Strategy for Regional Development and represents the synthesis document of regional operational programmes, including the list of priority regional and local development projects selected based on calls for project proposals, organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

The Single Programming Document currently in force covers the period 2025–2027 and lists 627 regional development projects, 1,478 local development projects and 32 projects submitted by local public administration authorities for capital repairs/rehabilitation works of social and cultural buildings, exclusively in cases where urgent intervention is required.
