Grants for local entrepreneurs of Moldova: expanded access to non-refundable financing, 36-per cent increase in number of growth of beneficiary companies
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of Moldova have benefited from expanded access to non-refundable financing for business development throughout the year 2025, according to results presented by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).
Thus, ODA’s data shows that, during this year, the number of funded projects increased from 596 to 810, or by 36 per cent, and the value of the non-refundable funding reached 346.4 million lei, compared to 250.6 million lei in 2024, achieving a 38-per cent increase. This support generated investments of 653.3 million lei, more than 22 per cent higher than the previous year.
In 2025, funding was consolidated by combining resources from the state budget with the support of development partners, contributing to the maintenance of 10,374 jobs and the planned creation of another 5,073.
Moreover, in 2025, the support instrument, Growing SMEs, was launched, offering non-refundable financing of up to 5 million lei per company for digitalization, green transition, production’s modernization, and energy efficiency.
At the same time, in 2025, technical assistance programmes were implemented, including the Local Suppliers Development Programme and the mentoring component of the Women's Entrepreneurship Support Programme, in order to strengthen the capacities of SMEs.
