Moldova initiates negotiations with Oman on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports

Moldovan holders of diplomatic, service and special passports will be able to travel without visas to the Sultanate of Oman. The government today ruled to initiate negotiations and approve the signing of an Agreement to this effect.

At the cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi said that the relevance of the draft Agreement was prompted by the shared interest of Moldova and the Sultanate of Oman to stimulate, diversify and develop bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, by facilitating reciprocal travel for the categories of persons concerned, in accordance with the national legislation of the parties and the regulations related to public order and national security.

Mihai Popsoi noted that the initiative reconfirmed the intention of both states to create friendly conditions for strengthening political dialogue and developing economic, trade, technical, scientific and cultural relations by facilitating contacts between decision-makers of the two states.

Moldova has concluded similar agreements with more other states.
