Airline launches direct flights from Chisinau to new destination in Europe

An airline is launching direct flights from the Chisinau-based Eugen Doga International Airport to the city of Wroclaw in Poland.

Thus, the new connection is operated starting from today, twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday, providing passengers with more travel options and new exploration opportunities.

At the same time, Wizz Air is consolidating its presence at the Chisinau airport by adding a second aircraft to its operational base in Chisinau.

“The launch of this route and the expansion of the Wizz Air fleet in Chisinau represents an important step in diversifying air connections for our passengers. We are pleased to witness the growth and strengthening of this collaboration, which brings people, cultures and opportunities closer together,” said Sergiu Spoiala, interim administrator of the Airport.

The Eugen Doga International Airport - Chisinau returned to state management in the spring of 2023. The authorities have earlier announced the modernization of airport’s infrastructure and attraction of investments, in order to enhance the capacity and the quality of services in a state-managed regime, that is transparent and focused on public interest.

Presently, it ranks among the top-performing airports in Europe, in the category of 1–10 million passengers per year. The growth is supported by the expansion of the route network and the number of airlines, which increased from 20 in 2022 to 33 in 2024.
