Another drop in fuel prices
Fuel prices continue to fall, so tomorrow drivers will pay about one leu less for a liter of diesel, while gasoline will become cheaper by 0.15 lei.
Data from the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) shows that tomorrow diesel will cost 31.52 lei, which is 0.95 lei less than today.
At the same time, gasoline will become cheaper by 0.15 lei per liter and will cost 29.43 lei. In this way, fuel prices are continuing the downward trend that started last week, shortly after the announcement of a ceasefire in the Middle East. Thus, on Friday, the diesel price fell by 0.49 lei and over the weekend it dropped by another 1.17 lei, followed by a new drop of 0.85 lei announced for today and 0.95 lei for tomorrow.
At the end of last week, ANRE announced that the price cuts are driven by the reaction of international markets to the announcement regarding the temporary halt of hostilities in the Persian Gulf region.
Oil prices registered a second consecutive day of decline, amid the possibility of resuming peace talks between the United States and Iran, Reuters notes. The price of Brent crude fell to $94.27, marking a decrease of 52 cents or 0.55%, after a 4.6% drop in the previous session. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell by 1.1% or $1.04, down to $90.24 per barrel, after a 7.9% decline the day before. Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that negotiations to end the conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran could be resumed in Pakistan in the coming days.
