Government Program Youth Capital approved by cabinet
The Government has approved the government program Youth Capital and the Regulation on the organization and conduct of the competition for obtaining this title.
The program aims to support local activities and projects dedicated to young people, to develop youth-friendly spaces and services, and to back youth initiatives through the provision of grants.
“Youth Capital Program provides additional resources for energizing youth activities in local communities. We propose amending the Regulation so that we can increase the available budgets and ensure greater support for youth programs,” said Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun.
The new provisions include clear and measurable selection and evaluation criteria and objectives for choosing the participating localities, thereby increasing the transparency of the process of awarding the Youth Capital title. At the same time, monitoring and reporting mechanisms are strengthened, facilitating the exchange of experience and the dissemination of good practices between localities.
In addition, the Program creates conditions for attracting financial resources from public, private and external sources, including for non-reimbursable financing of investments in infrastructure and community projects intended for young people. The implementation of these measures will contribute to the development of a youth-friendly environment in all regions of the country and will strengthen the capacities of local authorities to effectively implement youth policies.
