Government accelerates development of regional waste management infrastructure
Solid Waste in the Republic of Moldova project's implementation will be accelerated by declaring the works a public utility of national interest. The project approved by the Government will allow for the faster construction of essential infrastructure for a modern national waste management system.
“The document provides for the simplification of administrative and authorization procedures in order to speed up the implementation of this strategic environmental project and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks,” emphasized Minister of Environment Gheorghe Hajder.
The project includes measures that will enable faster implementation of investments, including simplified authorization procedures, the possibility of carrying out works in parallel with expropriation procedures, and ensuring rapid access to the necessary land. These actions will reduce administrative bottlenecks and significantly diminish the risk of delays in strategic projects.
Accelerating the implementation of the project is important for extending modern waste management services throughout the entire country. The development of regional infrastructure will allow for more efficient organization of sanitation services, cost reduction, and improvement in the quality of public services.
At the same time, this system will reduce pressure on local public authorities, which will focus on monitoring and control, while regional operators will ensure the operation of the services.
