The Energocom company in last March purchased a total volume of 381,513 MWh of electricity at a weighted average price of 130.75 euros/MWh.

For comparison, in February 2026, Energocom purchased a total volume of 420.508 thousand MWh of electricity at a weighted average price of 123.80 euros/MWh, while in last January, it bought 478.233 thousand MWh at a price of 144.52 euros/MWh.

The electricity demand was covered both from domestic sources and from imports. Thus, in March, 51.76 per cent of the total volume was covered by imports and 48.24 per cent came from local producers.

At the same time, 46.33 per cent of the total purchases were made through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania and Ukraine, while the remaining 5.43 per cent was procured on the Day-Ahead Market (DAM).

According to Energocom, the purchase cost does not include taxes and expenses related to transmission, capacity reservation and other logistical costs.

Since January 1, 2025, the right bank of the Dniester River has no longer been receiving electricity from the Kuchurgan Power Plant, after the Russian company Gazprom halted natural gas deliveries to Moldova. Under these conditions, consumption is covered from domestic sources and imports.
