Increased access to digital educational resources: they will be stored on modern national platform
The Government today approved the concept of the Information System “National Platform for Open Educational Resources” – a strategic initiative that will support the digital transformation of the education system.
The new platform will function as a centralized national repository of open digital resources in education, accessible free of charge and aligned with the national curriculum.
The platform is intended for pupils, including those with disabilities, as well as for parents and teachers. It will facilitate equitable access to high‑quality educational content, promote collaboration between authors and institutions, and support pedagogical innovation.
“We hope to launch it by the end of June. Recently developed digital textbooks will be available, and we will also have videos for children about artificial intelligence and how to use it, as well as other digital resources,” said Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun.
Thus, the implementation of the system will contribute to modernizing the educational process, increasing digital competences, and strengthening the national digital educational infrastructure.
The development of the platform takes place within the program “Promoting quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all”, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNICEF and UNDP, with financial support provided by UNICEF under the initiative to develop the Open Educational Resources Platform. The development cost of the platform is approximately 150 thousand euros.
