Gasoline and diesel stocks increasing: 33 thousand tons of fuel imported in recent days
Over 17 thousand tons of gasoline and 16 thousand tons of diesel were imported into the Republic of Moldova on 9–14 April. The information was presented today by the Ministry of Energy.
Under these conditions, gasoline and diesel stocks have increased, according to the ministry’s data. Thus, petroleum product stocks now cover 20 days of gasoline consumption, 17 days of liquefied petroleum gas consumption, and 11 days of diesel consumption.
For comparison, the Ministry of Energy’s data from 8 April indicated stock levels sufficient for 16 days of gasoline consumption and five days of diesel consumption, with an unchanged level of 17 days in the case of liquefied petroleum gas.
In addition to the increase in stocks, in recent days fuel prices have decreased following the announcement of a ceasefire in the Middle East. On Friday, the diesel price fell by 0.49 lei, and over the weekend it dropped by a further 1.17 lei, with another drop of 0.85 lei announced for today and 0.95 lei for tomorrow.
Car owners are encouraged by the authorities to use petroleum products rationally and to avoid purchases that are not strictly necessary.
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has declared a state of emergency in the energy sector for a period of 60 days, starting on 25 March 2026.
