Chișinău and Bălți residents to pay more for heating
Residents of the municipalities of Chișinău and Bălți will pay more for thermal energy supplied by Termoelectrica and CET-Nord. The new tariffs were approved today during a public meeting of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).
Thus, consumers in Chișinău will pay a tariff of 3,277 lei per gigacalorie, compared with the current rate of 2,020 lei. Similarly, for residents of Bălți, the price will increase from 2,201 lei to 3,374 lei.
According to ANRE, the main factor behind the tariff increase is the rise in the purchase price of natural gas.
The decision was approved against the backdrop of a protest held at ANRE, with participants expressing dissatisfaction over the tariff increases.
The last adjustment of the thermal energy tariff paid by residents of the capital and Bălți was made by ANRE at the beginning of last year. Residents of Chișinău had previously paid 2,020 lei per gigacalorie, excluding VAT, while residents of Bălți paid 2,201 lei.
