Collaboration memorandum with Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency signed in Bratislava

A collaboration Memorandum between the Investment Agency of the Republic of Moldova and the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) was signed on Thursday, March 26, in Bratislava. The event took place during the official visit of President Maia Sandu, at the invitation of Slovak counterpart Peter Pellegrini.

The signing of the document marks an important step in creating an open environment for business and investment, emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.

“We invite Slovak companies to engage in strategic projects and to support the sustainable development of the national and regional economy,” the official underlined.

The official reiterated the Republic of Moldova’s commitment to integration into the European Union and to strengthening the country’s status as a reliable partner for trade, investment, and regional development.

Slovakia is among Moldova’s top 25 trading partners, and in 2025 the volume of bilateral trade reached 97.85 million USD, an increase of 4.67% compared to the previous year. At present, 22 enterprises with Slovak capital are operating in Moldova, and investment cooperation has significant potential for expansion.

The Slovak Aid programs, with a value of over 10 million euros, support reforms, sustainable economic development, and the European integration process. Slovak investors are exploring opportunities in strategic sectors such as the automotive industry, renewable energy, information technology, and cyber security.

During the visit to the Slovak Republic, the Moldovan delegation held meetings with the President of the Slovak Parliament, Richard Raši, with MPs and with the Ministers of Economy and Defense, strengthening bilateral relations. The Moldova–Slovakia Business Forum also took place, attended by President Maia Sandu, Minister Osmochescu and representatives of the business communities of both countries, highlighting the interest in developing partnerships and expanding mutual investments.

The Republic of Moldova is going through a period of profound transformation and offers concrete opportunities for the business environment, President Maia Sandu stated at the Moldova–Slovakia Business Forum held on Thursday, March 26, in Bratislava. The leader from Chișinău encouraged Slovak businesspeople to invest in Moldova.
