Cyber security project to be carried out in Moldova
Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - Government’s representatives on 21 July discussed the cyber security of the country, in the context of the Moldova Cybersecurity Rapid Assistance project. The latter will enhance the cyber resilience nationally, will provide a model of governance in the field of cyber security and will boost the external cooperation in the sector.
The project’s main goal is to enhance the cyber resilience of the entities from the public sector and of the operators of essential services.
„The project will be implemented by the e-Governance Academy from Estonia, with the support of the European Commission, in the next 18 months and among the principal actions, there are: elaboration of the normative and legal framework, based on the international and European standards in the field; working out of a model of governance in the cyber security sector; identification and protection of the critical infrastructures,’’ the Economics Ministry said.
The sides stressed the importance of strengthening the cyber resilience, through the consolidation of the specialized institutions’ efforts, as well as implementation of a sustainable model of the field’s management, based on the good European modern practices.
In the context, they highlighted the need to strengthen the measures of informing as to the irresponsible behaviour in the online space. ‘’We warn citizens to be vigilant as to the model of use in the online space, in particular, when they make transfers of financial means,’’ the quoted source said.
