EPC Summit Moldova: hospitality industry likely to have additional sales of up to 10 million lei
Chisinau, May 16. /MOLDPRES/- Moldova's hosting of the European Political Community Summit will contribute to the development of the country's economy both in the long term and in the short term. Experts estimate that our companies, especially the HoReCa sector will have additional sales from 6 to 10 million lei (500 thousand euros).
Although it requires significant resources, including infrastructure improvements, security measures and logistical support, national experts believe that the event will lead to their recovery, through the benefits for the development of the business sector and the investment climate in general.
"When a company from our country wants to identify a new customer or supplier from abroad, as a rule, the first evaluation filter is the country where it comes from, and only then directly the company. The fact that Moldova will host an event with the presence of several influential leaders of states and governments, and will be in the international spotlight, at the most formidable media institutions in the world, will increase the notoriety and prestige of the country, and that will facilitate the opening of doors in externally and for our businesses", Business climate and SMEs program director, expert Stas Madan said.
Experts also said that the European Political Community Summit will provide more quality tools to our entire system of economic diplomacy, to use opportunities to promote exports and attract investments.
"In addition, the location of the event - a winery, creates premises to expand the geography of Moldovan wine consumers. We cannot exclude the immediate economic benefits of this event. Given the number of foreign delegates and journalists who will be present at this event, about 1500-2000 people, our companies, especially the HoReCa sector, will have additional sales from 6 to 10 million lei" , he said.
The EPC Summit will be held on 1 June in the town of Bulboaca, Anenii Noi district. The event will bring together around 50 European heads of state and government and EU officials.
