
European currency to increase by 10 bani against Moldovan leu
Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ – The European single currency will increase by MDL 0,10 and have an official price of MDL 19,79 on Monday, 24 September.
According to the BNM's official exchange rates announced today, the USD will rise on Monday. It will be appreciated by MDL 0,02 up to MDL 16,82.
The Romanian leu (RON) will gain MDL 0,01 and reach the value of MDL 04,24. The Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) will remain at the official price of MDL 0,59, and Russian rouble (RUB) will cost, as today, MDL 0,25.
Also today, the National Bank of Moldova announced that in August 2018, the coverage of the net demand of foreign currency by economic agents throughout the net supply of foreign currency from individuals constituted 103.2 per cent compared to 125.1 per cent in July 2018.
Compared to August 2018, the net foreign exchange supply of individuals increased by $5.1 million, while net foreign currency demand from businesses increased by $40.8 million. Thus, with a surplus of foreign exchange, the BNM intervened throughout foreign exchange purchases on the local interbank market amounting to $41 million.
