
France to provide Moldova with financial assistance to modernize railway infrastructure
Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government of France might provide Moldova with financial assistance for the modernization of the railway infrastructure on the Chisinau-Ungheni segment. The members of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration today approved the starting of negotiations to this end.
Under the document, the sum of the financial assistance will be of over 75 million euros. Some of the money will be provided as loan from the French Treasury. Also, Bpifrance Assurance Export will provide a bank loan on behalf and on the account of the government of France.
A delegation of Moldova, which will negotiate the financial protocol between the governments of Moldova and France, will be led by the state secretary of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry. The delegation will be made up of representatives of the Finance Ministry, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Justice Ministry, Public Property Agency and the Railway of Moldova State Enterprise.
