Moldovan economic development minister says ministry to ease administrative burden on entrepreneurs
Moldova will implement new deregulation measures for the business environment. Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Claudiu Nasui said that reducing the administrative burden on entrepreneurs and companies was one of the ministry’s priorities.
“I believe that the areas to which I will pay particular attention are the portfolio of state-owned companies and regulation and deregulation—so, easing somewhat the administrative burden that falls on the shoulders of both entrepreneurs and larger companies of Moldova,” Claudiu Nasui said in an interview given with the Agerpres Agency.
The minister emphasized that reforming these two areas—the management of state-owned companies and the simplification of regulations—might have a significant impact on the national economy.
At the same time, Claudiu Nasui said that there are many areas in which Chișinău is ahead of Bucharest, referring particularly to the digitalization field, where, according to him, “Romania has much to learn from Moldova.”
“There are many similarities, and I would say that there are also many areas in which Chisinau is ahead of Bucharest. I am referring especially to digitalization, where I believe we have much to learn. Romania has much to learn from Moldova in this area. Otherwise, there are many similar things, as well as similar problems, similar realities and similar solutions, and what makes me very happy is that there is a strong awareness here of the need for reform,” the minister of economic development and digitalization said.
Claudiu Nasui has recently taken over the office of minister of economic development and digitalization in the Moldovan government led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
