Energocom company's leadership rules to give up part of salary payments, postpone string of investments, with estimated savings of 17.5 million lei
The Energocom company’s leadership has ruled to give up part of the salary payments that represent an important component of the company's staff remuneration and to postpone a string of investments planned for the development of information systems this year.
According to the company, these measures will generate total savings of approximately 17.5 million lei by the end of 2026, including around 10 million lei from reducing salary expenses and approximately 7.5 million lei from optimizing IT investments.
"The decision responds to the prime minister's request to reduce costs in state institutions and agencies, as well as to public concerns regarding the level of leadership’s salaries," Energocom said.
At the same time, the number of employees involved in natural gas supply services has been reduced to 200, compared with more than 260 people employed by the company that previously held the public service obligation to supply gas. A temporary moratorium in employment has also been introduced at Energocom Furnizare (Supply).
