Fuel prices continue to drop in Moldova
The week begins with a new decrease in fuel prices. On Tuesday, petrol will cost less than 23 lei, and the diesel price will drop below 19 lei.
The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) announced a maximum price for petrol on 15 April of 22.81 lei per liter, down by 0.21 lei.
At the same time, drivers will pay 18.96 lei for a liter of petrol, down by 0.21 lei than today.
Last week, standard fuel prices decreased by 0.75 lei per liter. ANRE explained that the "trade war initiated by the USA in relation to its partners, especially China, as well as the unexpected announcement by OPEC+ regarding the continuation of plans to increase oil production, have caused a real storm in the international markets for oil and derivative products."
As a result, both the Brent oil quotation and the Platts quotations for petrol and diesel have collapsed to the lowest level in the last five years.
