Balti Clinical Hospital to receive ultrasound machine through grant provided by government of Japan

The Balti Clinical Hospital will receive a new ultrasound machine worth 95,673 dollars through a grant provided by the government of Japan, under the Kusanone Grant Programme. The financing agreement today was signed by Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Takeuchi Kazuyuki and the acting director of Balti Clinical Hospital, Ludmila Capcelea.

The equipment will be used to conduct high-quality and safe examinations, as part of cardiovascular procedures that require a high degree of precision.

According to the Embassy of Japan, the ultrasound machine will help improve the medical institution’s capacity to conduct specialized investigations and provide medical services to patients of the region.

Ambassador Takeuchi Kazuyuki welcomed the project submitted by the Balti Clinical Hospital and expressed his appreciation for the work of healthcare professionals.

“The government of Japan has long been a partner of Moldova in the healthcare sector. During this turbulent period, we want to cooperate with the Moldovan people as a partner that shares the same values,” the Japanese ambassador said.

The diplomat also conveyed his gratitude and respect to medical workers who continue to provide services to the local population, despite limited resources and funding.

The funding is provided through the Grant Assistance for Human Security Kusanone Programme, through which the government of Japan supports local public medical institutions and other institutions with grants for small-scale projects.

The Kusanone Programme has been implemented in Moldova since 2008. To date, the government of Japan has provided non-reimbursable grants totaling approximately 8 million dollars for 98 projects in the fields of healthcare, education and public utilities.

The funding for the Balti Clinical Hospital project is included in this assistance and represents a new project supported through the programme.
