Japan supports modernization of Balti Clinical Hospital with grant worth over 95,000 dollars
The government of Japan will provide 95,673 dollars in grant to modernize Balti Clinical Hospital. The funds will be used to purchase an ultrasound machine for high-quality examinations during cardiovascular procedures.
The grant agreement was signed today by Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Takeuchi Kazuyuki and the interim director of the Public Medical-Sanitary Institution Balti Clinical Hospital, Ludmila Capcelea.
The funding is provided by the government of Japan under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects “Kusanone” programme.
The new ultrasound machine will enable precise and safe examinations during cardiovascular procedures that require a high degree of accuracy.
Ambassador Takeuchi Kazuyuki welcomed the project proposed by Balti Clinical Hospital and expressed his appreciation for healthcare professionals who continue to provide services to the local population, despite limited resources and funding.
“The government of Japan has long been a partner of Moldova in the healthcare sector. During this turbulent period, we wish to work with the Moldovan people as a partner that shares the same values,” the Japanese ambassador said.
The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Kusanone programme has been implemented in Moldova since 2008. To date, the government of Japan has provided approximately 8 million dollars in grant funding for 98 projects in the fields of healthcare, education and public utilities.
